As I said I am no mechanic but I perhaps should have said TDC sensor, hopÍ thats more accurate.

Any way it worked and I have had not problems since.

Smile Top Dead Centre Replacement

Hi

Thanks so much for taking the time to post those pictures - they've really helped us and we're taking a look under the bonnet now...

Just to ask your opinion - my car had been left on the drive for a week while we were on holiday and I tried to start it today but it just turned over and didn't start - the man from Green Flag said it might be the crank sensor (is this the same as the tdc sensor?). However reading on this forum we thought it might be the tdc - do you think we're along the right lines? Should we get it dianostic tested to make sure?

Many thanks

Hi Liz - the TDC sensor and the crank sensor are the some thing - to be tedhnocally correct it should be referred to as the "crankshaft speed/position sensor". It may be worth giving it a clean and see if it helps - would be cheaper than paying for a diagnosis
Currently in madnoel10's garage:

Unhappy

Thanks for that.

We cleaned it then replaced the tdc sensor along with the new connector and it didn't work - it is now in a local garage and is baffling the mechanics as to what it could be!

We think something might have corroded while it's been sat on the drive for a week....?

Fingers crossed it gets sorted soon.

Thanks for everyone's advice.
