Hi All,
my missus has a 1998 Megane 2.0 Coupe with all the symptons of a TDC failure, ive had alook under the bonnet but im damned if i can see where the sensor is, i figure its gotta be on the right as per the pictures, can anyone confirm this?

should be pretty much the same. The exact engine may be different but location on engine and sensor shape the same

cheers mate gonna take a good look at the weekend, sure as hell dont want to pay renault 75 just to look at it

right so i finally found the tdc sensor i cleaned it up and put it back in still the same problem, so my other half decided she couldnt wait so took it to renault, basiclly they cant figure out what it is either! so is it worth me just buying a tdc from gsf and just try changing it?

For some strange reasons it appears many diagnostic systems fail to pick up faulty TDC sensors - I think its mainly because the faults tend to be intermittent. In about 80% of cases it's not the sensor itself that fails but its connections so it may well be worth double checking the connections
