This is the second photo in a series of five. I highlighted the sensor bolts with red (orange in photo) nail varnish borrowed from my wife, some of the sharp bits lurking to hurt your hands in blue, and the proximity of the sensor connector to the plastic loom cover in white.

Re: TDC Sensor Replacement (with pictures!)

Third picture in a series of five. I was tempted to cut away some some of the alloy between the the two bolts to make it easier but didn't.

Re: Scenic 1.6 auto tdc sensor

Fourth in a series of five. Again note the proximity of the wiring loom cover and the connector of the sensor. One wonders who on earth designed this. A friend of mine who is a professional mechanic sometimes stands back and screams "FRENCH" when frustrated by french design, wiring. and logic.
But in their defence the French do make many comfortable, good handling and elegant cars.

Re: TDC Sensor Replacement (with pictures!)

Last in a series of five photos. Shows the real gloomy world of the Scenic 1.6 auto TDC sensor. Unless you have, good tools, great patience, excellent dexterity, and don't mind a few scrapes on your hands and forearms, let someone else do it for you. You have been well warned! Now I have to do one in my 3ltr V6 Zantia. Yes they're rare.

P.S. I was amused to see that I am a junior member. That to me implies youth. At 63, with numerous restorations completed, a collection of Jaguars, Rileys, and Triumphs I almost feel complimented. A bit like when a 90 year old calls me "young man".
