Re: TDC Sensor Replacement (with pictures!)

Our TDC sensor gives no signal, i am going to have to have a go at cleaning it up and see if we can get it orking again, anyone else got a TDC giving no signal to come back to life after cleaning?

First off, here is the view from looking over the engine

Secondly, here is the view going into the right hand side of the engine as you look into it

Thirdly, I removed the air box, you don't need to, but it makes access easier and found the TDC

Here it is unbolted...

Simply unclip and replace with the new part.

Old and new...

I know everyone says it's an easy job, and...honestly...it really is!

deasr Sir, do you think I will find the TDC sensor at same location on renault megane II 2006 ?
model?
appreciate your effort.

Re: TDC Sensor Replacement (with pictures!)

Hi Guys,

I'm totally useless when it comes to these things, but I'm loving my '02 Scenic 1.6 16v and the start up problem is a little embarrassing... Im pretty sure by all of your comments on here that it is the TDC sensor, but am not entirely sure if I'm looking at the correct ones... Can someone send me the p/n or even better an ebay link to one, so that I can get it... It looks as though I may even be able to fit it myself from the pics....

Anyone heard about this?
I am new to the forum and saw your thread. Did this solve the starting problem. I have just bought a 2000 1.6 auto and having the same problem with starting.
