Unhappy Re: TDC Sensor Replacement (with pictures!)

Hi guys I am new to this fantastic site, I have the same problem with my wife's 2004 scenic 1.6 16v auto with the TDC sensor I followed the pictures and instructions in this thread to get this thing over with, however I had to remove the battery to get to the sensor I managed to remove the two 10mm bolts but I wasn't able to remove the sensor from it place like it was welded or super glued I even tried to remove it with a screwdriver until I nearly snapped it
but it didnít move not even one millimetre :loser:

any ideas please enlighten me with your experience and thank you very much for your effort

Re: TDC Sensor Replacement (with pictures!)

it does sound as though it's welded its self so i'd try using a load of WD40 on it and then leave it for 10 minuets before having another go at it lol .

Re: TDC Sensor Replacement (with pictures!)

Hello there....

I am new to the forum, my 97 Scenic Magane takes like 30sec to 2 min of cranking before the engine begins to turn over. Once it does start it runs good, and it will start right away for most of the rest of the day. I removed the TDC sensor and cleaned it up, although I didn't have any WD40. I put it back on and I cannot really tell a difference. Still did not start without a bit of cranking. I want to know if anyone can make a suggestion of what I should do next? Do you think I should replace the TDC ?, or spark plugs? The wires look like they are in good condition. Can someone please help?

Thanks
Trey
