When I had my Megane Estate II I come out to my battery dead and had to use this method and all was well until I come to fit my fully charged battery back into the car and the alarm started going off as soon as I attached the battery the key card wouldn't switch it off for a few minutes so I am guessing it is because the door had been opened while the alarm was on? Might of just been a one off but wern't a good experience for me or my neighbours

My Renault Laguna Angelique 2003 has a flat car battery, lights left on, however the key in the keycard won't open the passenger door no matter which way we turn it, has anyone got any ideas how we can get in our car?

Both my and my wife's keycards are not working in terms of the lock and unlock buttons. The car starts with the key inserted. Is this likely a battery issue? I don't know how the keycard technology actually works, but is it that the buttons are controlled by the battery and the starter is controlled by an NFC chip?

Yes it'll most likely be the battery, replace with quality batteries and not Poundland rubbish.
Use the search facility on the forum for instructions on how to replace your batteries as there are different types of keycards.
