Re: Advice needed on potential Renault purchase of old Clio

Hi and welcome to the forum,

This sounds to me like a very good buy however. Due to the age of the car it is very important that you check if the timing belt has been replaced at the correct intervals. The car has done very low mileage but it is important that the time factor is applied to the timing belt.

It is recommended that the belt be changed every 70k miles or every 5 years. With this in mind the car should now be on its third or possibly 4th belt.

If this has not been done then you must factor this into the price of the car.
Currently in planmeca's garage:
Renault Laguna 1.8 16v x 2 and a lot of other things. could really do with a tidy up to be honest I'll do it tomorrow
