Scenic mk1 frustrating judder from brake pedal

Evening ladies and gents

For the past couple of months I've had a problem with my scenic mk 1

When braking and pulling up to a junction during light braking , just before I come to a stop there is a grinding noise and judder abs type feeling in the brake pedal almost as if the abs has kicked in , however the abs light doesn't come on.

I've had the brake pads out , all slides cleaned , greased and pads replaced. Rear pads are new.

I've also checked the reluctor rings to see if any are cracked and causing the abs to infact come

All look ok, the problem is really frustrating , I would like to try and sort myself rather than going to the garage

Has anyone had this fault themselves ?

The judder in the pedal only happens during the last 3 metres before I stop.

I was thinking of pulling the abs fuse to rule that out ?

Any help or advice much appreciated
