I have had this problem for a while now, it's intermittent so haven't paid particular attention to it and also has not got worse...
Sometimes when slowing down to stop (it has also happened a couple of times when starting the car) with the clutch depressed i get a sort of whirring noise? It only happens in 1st gear and when the clutch is depressed... I am not sure if it is a braking or clutch issue? I know for a fact that the clutch isn't overly healthy and will need replacing sometime in the near(ish) future.
Also another strange noise has appeared... (may not be in the right section of the forum though
). A very very very quiet squeaking noise has made an appearance. It's that quiet that I can only hear it with the windows shut and the radio off and when sat in the drivers seat. My boyfriend drove my car and he thinks its more of a tapping noise, I say squeaking. Ha.
It starts when the car starts moving and increases in speed when the car speeds up. It sounds like it is coming from the driver's side front wheel sort of area. When my car got it's MOT back at the end of January it got an advisory "2.4.G.2 - near side front anti-roll bar has slight play in pin/bush" which, admittedly, I haven't got fixed yet. Could that be in relation to the noise?
I'm going on holiday on 4th september which means I need to drive to Portsmouth and back which is a 473 mile round trip so if it's anything that won't last til I get back I need to get it sorted ASAP!!
