hello mate had two myself so here goes
the rear seat folds both ways when folded forward id doesnt fold flat bur at an angle so you can get long thin items in if you need to fold it flat you have to fold the backrest back (which exposes the seat materialto what ever your loading ) the middle seat can then be folded forwards (60 40 split )to give a huge area
shifted a three piece suite with one(2seater setee inside two arm chairs on roof rails ) a good family car get the tdi one if you can but stay away from the 4x4 very heavy on fuel!
the rear seat is realy for kids upto about 12yo any bigger and you get issues with leg room also hard to put baby saets in back even though its a three point belt they dont have the length
overall a good family car as i said we moved a family of six around for several years with both of ours easy & cheap to maintain (parts interchange able with volvo 400 series )
watchout for the steering rack & sub frame bushes both a pig of a job to change
we traded up to an espace when the elder two got to big
but as i say a good allrounder
fantastic motorway cruiser as if find with most renaults
had a 1.7 petrol used to get about 5-600 mile on a tank so fairly economical
loved mine sad to see it go
specialy as the twonk that bought it tryed doin 100+ with 7 adults n wondered why the cambelt went wasted a fantastic car
good luck anymore just ask ok
