What service did you have done? If is was the 18K then only the Oil and pollen filter would have been replaced.. So I guess that it would be coincedental..

If it was the 36K then this would also include the Spark plugs etc.. This would mean that the coils would have been disturbed.

Now the 1.6 (K4M) engine is fitted with 4 individual Coils . Made by a company called Sagem.. There was a bad batch of them made up until 330-3, (Day 330 of 2003).. This code is moulded on the body of each coil ..
There is a Renault solution that will allow these to be replaced under warranty..

Important: If the "Toxic Fume Light" is illuminated then I would recommend that you DO NOT drive the vehicle to far as this is an indication that the vehicle is misfiring due to a faulty coil or Spark plug.. If this is the case then Unburnt fuel will be leaking into the CAT convertor and it will Die very quickly..

Please take the car to a dealer, or better still get it recovered under Renault Assistance..
