Smile Clio instrumentation died - sorted!!

Thanks to the last suggestion of Horatio - "Leave the battery positive disconnected" - I did this, disconnected the two red cables going to the battery positive and left them disconnected for two days, I dont need to use the car usually during the week, and when I reconnected them today the instrumentation fired up OK.
There dosent seem to be a diagnostic setup on the button at the end of the stalk though - perhaps not fitted to this model?
