we finally got there -you need a few hours on this
We have had similar problem. The door open or locking mechanisms functioned correctly but the door could not be opened. We found that door locking mechanism was not operating because one of the plastic arms had broken. This could not be seen externally and we could only see this after we dismantled the door catch mechanism.
To do this we removed the plastic cover and central locking solenoid which allowed access to the inner mechanisms of the door catch. Using a screwdriver we were able to release the lock mechanism and open the door. We could then remove the mechanism from the door.
All that there is left to do is find a replacement part and fit it. Does anyone know what a second hand unit might cost? I'll let you know what it cost me if I find one.
Thanks to my partner who has masses of patience and persistence for getting this one cracked.
