Re: Can anyone recommend a kangoo?

No harm in looking, first impressions from your pic is the seller is a dealer and has probably bought the van from auction. The outside of the tyres look painted and the cheap wheel covers are a give-away, and the yarn about having lost the service book too If he is genuine then he should have all the receipts for parts replaced readily to hand, and if you look for these around the car the area and bolt heads that's been worked on should look cleaner than the rest of the vehicle. If he's changed the cambelt check for recepts for a full cam belt kit eg tensioners, water pump as well as belt. If he's only changed the belt at 30 something pounds he's taken a short cut which could land you with a hefty bill in the future.
Have you owned a diesel before? Do you know what smoke signs from the exhaust to look for on start up and acceleration when warm? There are lots of diesel problems on this forum which may make you think twice.
Do you know the mileage of the van?
