Sorry fastfingers.
I think a lot of people on here have the standard factory fit equipment, some of the newer units are mp3 compatible.
Others probably have aftermarket systems, but may not kn ow of ipod/usb connectivity.
I like a good sound system but only really listen to the radio, so don't need all these fancy features. A speaker upgrade was all that was required for a to upgrade the "cabasse auditorium" standard head unit in my case.

To keep the separate display & remote control features of your existing stereo ( if you have it) you will need to buy adaptors. I think Sony are one of the few manufacturers that make these stereo/leads compatible. There are a few others I am sure.

I would avoid "unknown" brands - whilst the may appear value for money, and may well be good value - you are entering the unknown and don't know what reliability/lomng term wear will be like.
Stick to the branded units & you wont go far wrong.
