I've never driven outside of the UK but considering the much larger sizes of most other countries in Europe I guess more opportunity exists (whether at legal limits or illegally in the remoter regions) to explore the higher speed capabilities of any car.

I think there's an interesting comparison in this thread, the Merc with all its power unleashed but remaining a strong and hopefully dependable motor, and the Evo8 being tuned to the hilt too with bucketloads of HP and blistering performance but how long will it hold together for before the engine needs a rebuild?

Are high power vehicles safe? As with any vehicle a lot depends on the quality of components and the standard of maintenance and prepatory safety checks before embarking on any high speed or full power acceleration runs.

As we all know, the most dangerous component in any vehicle is the nut behind the steering wheel.
