Right, job done today. That's much better
In answer to my own question (if anyone's interested) you now totally lose the ability to unlock just the driver's door. I was hoping that, using the remote, one press of 'unlock' would unlock the driver's door and de-activate the hands-free system. Instead, a single press of the button now unlocks all of the doors.
As Webcode said, it's a shame to lose this useful safety feature. I don't recall ever actually needing it in the three years that I had the last Laguna, but I did routinely unlock just the driver's door if that was all that was needed, and it was nice to know that the option was there.
But on a day to day basis, it's certainly more useful to be able to open any door as long as the card is on your person. Even when I'm driving alone, I often need to put stuff in the boot, so it's handy to be able to open that first too.
It's just a pity Renault didn't think this through properly, either by still allowing selective opening from the remote or by allowing the user to configure selective or non-selective opening for themselves from inside the car (as you can with the automatic locking at 7mph.)
