Do you think the cables run that close to the windows that the oil or grease would contaminate them ?,

I was thinking of using chainsaw chain oil as this is designed to stick to the chain with minimal amount getting thrown off as the chain spins round, but its not to sticky to cause excess drag on the outer sheath of the window regulator (me thinks).

But if any oil drips off would'nt this just drip into the door cavity anyway.

Does anyone know how to contact Renault Technical? My driver's side window cable has broken and the main dealer I contacted does not belive that my car needs one with a 16? pin plug It has the seat position sensor bult in so it is not the usual 6 or 2 pin type.

My laguna window on the passenger side is stuck in safty mode staggering 1 inch at a time I have tried to reset but it wont have it .
Could it be seizing up ?

Its quite easy if you go gently the screws you have taken out are correct and its just a case of gently prising the door card off with a flat bladed screwdriver but protect the piantwork with some card or cloth there are quite a few small plastic pop clips (fragile) dotted around the door as well as the adhesive rubber strip which stretches and needs to be shortened and restuck before putting the card back.
If you need to replace the unit I have a contact who may be able to supply for £110 inclusive.
Hope this helps let me know
