Hi. I'm knew to this page. I have been experiencing major problems with my Laguna II Dynamique. Both my front passenger and driver windows will not go up or down and make a grinding noise when I push the button. I have no knowledge of cars, so any information would be much appreiciated, e.g. what part is gone etc.

Also when I put my card into the reader only the radio and clock come on, a flashing red light appears on the dash and I cant start the car. I was told it was the steering lock computer had failed. Does that sound right?

All suggestions are really welcomed. A very depressed Renault Owner!

Door card off saves $$$$

Hi

Most faults with the regulator on the doors can be fixed . Most faults are easy diy .
I was told by renault quote " oh yes we have looked at your door and you require a new regulator 200 please "
I took the car home popped the door card off removed some frayed wire sprayed with oil reset the windows and now runs better than ever fully working window . .

If I ever do one again I will take pics step by step .
If sombody else attempts it take a couple of pics I feel this will help allot of renault owners and save$$$$ .

Thanks ide man .

Anyone bothered to ask them ?

I took the drivers door off yesterday to sort out a squeeky window... turned out the cables were dry and causing the squeek in the hot weather - they had gone tight in the heat.

I used finger sized dollops of molly grease on the cables and blue runners...

Now there is a quiet whiiiirrrrrr as the window goes down and not a god awful screaming!

The next bit is to replace the passenger side one that has snapped.. the "up" cable is still ok and it's holding the window up.

Any pointers on a cheap supplier ? How long is the "down" cable supposed to be.. ?
I think it's the 6 pin variety - the one with anti-pinch - is that right ?

I traded the 2001 Laguna II Privelege 1.8 16v for a Toyota Carolla with all the trimmings. MUCH better :-))
