Electric Window Repair on Laguna II

I had the problem where I heard a grinding noise from the driver side window mechanism.
I found this thread and I opted to contact Neil Danner for repairs. He has a listing on ebay , see eBay.co.uk: Renault Laguna II Electric Window Regulator *REPAIR* (item 180108442873 end time 28-Apr-07 18:23:04 BST)

The chap sent instructions of how to dismantle the mechanism and I sent it in the post to him. 1 week later I got a fully refurbished window mechanism.
In order to still drive the car without the mechanism, I secured the window attachment holes with two cable ties. This will enable the window to slip down about 2cm though so to further secure the window I pressed in a CD case between the door frame and the window, worked a treat.

I can highly recommend Neil's services, well worth the 40.

Over and out,
Ulf

I've tried a few times now to get this right but each time I re-fit it seems to come apart. How tight is the tension on the capstan? Did you take any pics of the threading around the capstan? maybe I'm threading it wrong!

Window Regulator

I too have a problem with o/s/f window kinda jamming, not closing fully and generally makin a racket!! So removed door card by removing two screws located on underside of card and the one behind the small cover behind inside door handle and then teasing of card as is stuck on with some kinda doublesided sticky foam.
On removal noticed that cables connected to regulator were corroded and stripped. On removing regulator (remove 4x nuts and unclip glass via two plastic circlips located at rear of bottom of glass) the last strand bust and pound signs appeared before my face.
No joy when searching local scrap yards for replacement, so 120 at German,Swedish ,French got me the part, comes with instruction and is now fully operational.

Hi everyone

got my new drivers side door window regulator from WBU parts limited via Ebay for 75 delivered 2nd class to my door. This amazed even the garage that fitted it for me, since they quoted me 300 (and renault 333)... I think they're selling for about 80 now, but still an absolute bargain. Comparatively!
