Fixed It

Renewed my window regulator took me a little while and was a bit fiddely getting the door panel on and off but got there in the end. The wire from my old regulator was actually wrapped round my window motor and that took a bit of time to separate but all is well now

Laguna Window Regulator Replacement

My front passenger window also failed in the 'down' position, two days before my holidays. (Laguna II)
Renault Dealer quoted 318 to repair!!!!!!
They kindly secured it up for me for free tho'.
On my return I bought one off Ebay for a total of 60 including p&P & VAT. Next day delivery. Thanks to your help & advice in the forum I had a go myself. Took me less than an hour!
You'll need a Torx 30 and a Torx 20 screwdriver bit to get the panel off. (The seal around the edge had already been loosened by Renault Dealer) A bit tricky to swap the motor over after it was off, but otherwise, no probs!!
I took a series of photos as I was doing it if anyone's interested, but not sure how to display them on the forum.

Regards
Mike

i used a guy by the name of neil danner, took about a week but i cannot fault his work, he will send you a step by step guide and give you all the help you require. stripping down is easy once you get stuck in and follow the guide. as i said getting the confidence to start is the hardest part.
whilst the mechanism was away i wedged the window up with a piece of wood cut to length and put rags in the door just in case the wood slipped when i was driving and the window came crashing down.
hope this helps

Had the same prob window only travelled a couple of inches then tried again and it went down, used to take me ages to shut the window (drivers) but I had a clunking noise aswell, took door panel off and found at the end of the cable it has a plastic fastner that clips sidways into the metal bracket had fell off, put back on (easier said than done) and window now goes up and down with no noise only prob is, when window fully shuts it opens again about 20mm so it looks like its positioning is out and thinks a childs hand is stopping the travel, but living with it as at least it travels up and down freely.

might work or might not. try resetting the switch shut the window and hold switch up for about anothe 30 seconds, this reset the switch, plenty or blurb in other threads.
