3 seconds

holding the switch up when window is fully closed for 3 seconds usually clears it - saying that, mine sometimes stop and reverse slightly as if they've detected an obstacle - never got to the bottom of that!

unfortunately the guy who was advertising a repair service on eBay has ceased so you will have to shop around or buy a complete new mechanism. Be sure which one you need and check to see if the old one is a 6 pin or 2 pin type. Then look on ebay for the cheapest option, some are sold without the motor (which can be swapped anyway). Replacing the mech is explained in the forum so have a look for the details, it usually takes about an hour.

Hi all,

The other day my drivers side window started inching up and down, and it sounded like a cable was grating inside.

Today I folded my electric wing mirrors in and used the drive through car wash at my local petrol station.
When it came to putting the windows back out, only the passenger side would move!!!

I have changed the fuse for the windows but to no avail.
I have taken the drivers side window to bits to make sure it is dry (as a piece of the plastic casing was out of place on the bottom half of the mirror).
When I put the mirror back together, none of the windows worked!!!
I went back out an hour later and now the passenger side works occasionally.

My god.........any ideas?

Smile Ebay guy or new ebay guy there again

Hi All,
I had the same problem as you all with the passenger window on my laguna, it went down only an inch or so then constantly pressing the up down button, it eventually went up again, i got mine refurbished by a guy on ebay see listing

Renault Laguna II Electric Window Regulator *REPAIR*
ebay item number 180221554030

fairly easy to remove and reinstall with his clear pictured instructions,

go on give him a whirl and take the trouble out of how to do it by getting it done for a small price.
