when i taped it up i only taped the window to the rubber not the paint work....when i took the tape off it left a horrible mark on both the window and the rubber, i used a ceramic hob scraper to get it off but it still left a bit of a mark....probably more so since i had mines taped up for quite a while.....its now been almost a year since i got my window fixed and the marks are almost unnoticeable now

Hi All:

I got the window fixing kit from ebay ... a bit confusing the manual...
but by taking the regulator out of the door...and taking a close look, you get the picture.

The problem I have, is that THE REEL on the tip of the motor is kind of broken, becuase the end traks where the wire should fit, are borderless.

Is that reel coming in a new regulator?
Can i buy only the reel?

Do you know where can i get one? anybody out there??

..hope you guys can heklp me...Thanks in advance!!

The problem is that

hi
i have not read all the threads, but i get the jist of holding the window up whist the gubbing's are away being repaired.
when i did mine. i put loads of cloth inside the door so if the window did drop it would get a soft landing and not smash. to hold the window i found a piece of would that would support the window and then cut it to lenght so it held the window up. just don't jam the wood in to hard or you may dent the door.
sorry i can help about the reel as i sent mine away and any new bits ot replaced.
got luck to you all. i'm now into a whinnie gearbox. i'm going to replace the oil then i'm afraid it a recon box. but i still love my laguna

The problem is that
The new mechanism should be complete except for the motor which you take off the old mech (unless you want to spend a bit more and have a mech with motor) the motor is held on by 3 screws and is a simple job. Check out eb*y for the best deal as prices do vary and get one from a reputable source (i.e. guaranteed). thec whole job of replacing a mech is in this forum just take a mo to search the "how to fix" section.
