I know what you mean, just bought a C-Max.
About to sell the laguna and want to fix the window first.
Given me a bit grief at times, silly little faults, and the wife finally had enough.
Still gonna miss the old girl though.
Thanks again for the reply it will save me a good few quid.

Hi,
I have a broken window regulator (Snapped cables) & have been reading through the long list of threads on the forum detailing all the problems with window regulators & snapped cables seem to be very common.

I notice that a few people that have manged to replace the cables, however I'm a bit stuck as the cables are well & truly knackered on my regulator...they were in pieces in the bottom of the door.....so I have nothing to copy.

I notice that you can get cable kits from ebay that come with detailed instructions ...Does anyone have a set of these instructions that they would like to share?

Cheers.

I have the same problem with my front passenger side window and I am going to have a go at fixing it myself with brake cable.

Just to let people know I also had a problem with my rear window, which was a completely different mechanism, and I have managed to locate the fault. This regulator has one rail and a large cable with wire wrapped around the outside like a screw. This wire goes through the rail and attaches to the plastic clip that the window fastens to. The problem I have is that the cable has broken off the plastic clip (plastic clip snapped). Hopefully I can buy a new clip from the dealers tomorrow and that should fix it. If not it could be a long day stripping doors at the scrap yard for me tomorrow.

Thanks for all the advice and help from fellow Renault owners on this forum. I hope my situation is useful to others of you in the same boat.

Hi Ottaman

Thanks for your reply, I contacted Renault and they do not sell the clips seperately, and unfortunately most scrap yards seem reluctant to sell them aswel. I suppose they would rather you bought the whole mechanism.

Looks like I might be out of look on this one.

On a good note my front window is now working thanks to the advise from these forums, the only problem with that window now is that one of the white clips that attaches to the motor shield keeps popping off when the window is wound fully up. I think a cable tie will fix that though.

Thanks again for all the advice, saved me a bundle :D
