laguna II window regulator replacement problem

I recently purchased a window regualtor (without motor) for my Laguna II phase 1 2001. My original cables snapped and I ordered a new replacement part from a online seller for about 60.

The part was replaced and worked for 2 months & then this one failed too!

The company sent me a new part and I had that fitted this evening, however when installing we found the window is really difficult to move up & down. it sticks quite badly. We had this issue with the 1st replacement but this time around the "sticking" has got worse.

We greased up the runners before installation and it helps ever so slightly. Is there anything that is obvoius that hinders the movement of the window. Also tested by slightly loosening the bolts that hold the reg in place just in case there was tension.

Any thoughts??? & Thanks for any help.

The only other things which could cause the glass to resist movement is the rubber seal - try using a little washing up liquid on the glass, and the motor worm drive to the spool - apart from the plastic brackets which run in the channels there is nowt else to stop the glass going up and down

i did this too after trying a different method using a wire repair kit, that was bought from e-bay for 20 but didnt work out as one of my cables was broken and i didnt get the measurement right,

bought the full assembly - motor and had it fitted in 45 minutes (2nd time i had the door in bits so it was pretty straight forward).

i was quoted 271 from a renault specialist ( this included the motor) but as the motor is OK then i reckon even with the 20 i wasted first i have still saved 195 on what i was quoted.

get the part and if you dont like the idea of doing it yourself find a local garage to do it for you, should only be 1 hours labour.

good luck all

Maybe the battery has gone flat - with the door open the interior lights will have been lit.
