Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs

Hi....

I got the repair kit form ebay ...they sent me another as the cable was too tights.

I strongly recommend to all the members to buy the whole regulator...

It's about 25-30 quid more...but you save a LOT OF TIME...

Re: Electric Window Problem

It sounds like you need a new window regulator. Mine was the same. Regulator is about £36 on ebay . Got mine done and it's been fine.

Hope this helps.

Also when I put my card into the reader only the radio and clock come on, a flashing red light appears on the dash and I cant start the car. I was told it was the steering lock computer had failed. Does that sound right?

All suggestions are really welcomed. A very depressed Renault Owner!
Next time buy yourself as japanese car, that will fix your problems with car electrics. Now,seriously i think you must first reset your ECU -unit(computer unit in the car who regulates all the electronics),it's like update your home pc

Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs

I definitely would not recommend the kits you have to measure the cable length yourself. However, having strung one reg from when I bought a replacement regulator and had to change the motor over, uncoiling the cable in the process, I'm now a pro

I would recommend though taking the reg out to examine it. I bought replacement cables for the nearside when it went only to find actually one of the blue clips had bust and the cables were ok.

Still new cables won't hurt but I still had to get a replacement blue clip!

So, the kits from germany with all the spare bits may be a good bet, but check first. Or as SB said, just get a complete new reg, only make sure it has the correct motor plug or it won't fit your existing loom
