Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs

Just thought I would add my experience of repairing the window cable on the OSF with the kit on Ebay from e-crofting (20). Yes its fiddly but if you are into that sort of thing, follow the instructions to the tee and all goes well!
The measurements I came out with are -: Blue=1202mm Green=1185mm and Yellow=1165.

All is now working perfectly! If your after a fast repair then go with the replacement cables from Turkey on Ebay instead. It took me about 4hrs once the mech was on the bench!

Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs

Hi fixed my Laguna, went to the bike shop bought some brake cable also got an end piece to fit on other end of cable only cost a couple of euro. Went home measured cable cut with small angle grinder, also ground both ends to fit into positions, just remember to wind cables evenly around the regulator wheel then put wheel on over the pin, this can be hard to do as the cables seem to tight but a bit of brute force and it will go on, put everything back together, hold both electric window buttons up at the same time for six seconds, job done.
Just one last thing you could always use a pin from a old electrical plug (part where wire fits in), grind with angle grinder until the right shape. good luck saves a good bit of money

Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs

Hi all,
I tried the repair kit from e-crofting but after a good few hours and sore fingers I gave up and have now ordered a replacement regulator from wingman mirrors for 49.35.

Just out of curiosity I asked my local Renault garage how much it would be to fix the regulator, 367 so there was no way I was paying that.

Looking forward to getting the regulator in place now.

Hi all,

Does anyone know if you can just purchase the pulleys?

Thanks

Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs

Hi chaps. A week ago my D/S window stopped working with a bang. After reading the help on this forum, I worked out that one of the cables had snapped. I found a full repair kit off ebay that included all the plastic bits as well as the cables. I got the door panel off, sure enough, one of the cables had snapped (the one from top left to bottom right) and the cable had wrapped up round the drive pulley. I got the gubbins out of the door, stripped the old cables off, and the motor/pulley too. I have re-assembled the cables, greased up, but need to rewind the ends onto the pulley before refitting. Any advice on how to get the right amount of cable on the drum? The mech is ready to go back into the door apart from this holdup.
