Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs

Hi I've just joined so new to this.
Been reading about the front window regulators and motors.
My question is on my 56 plate Laguna both front window cables have snapped. The drivers connection is a 6 pin does this mean that the n/s is a 6 pin connection also or can it be different ?
Anybody know the answer please.

Al

Al/Mech Man

Dunno about the pins side of things but if the motor is ok have a go at what I've just done as a novice - managed to replace the cables from an ebay kit for 11 and ok it took me a wee bit more than the 20 minutes quoted but it wont the next time - have a go while the weather holds!

Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs

My Renault Laguna 2001 does it all the time.
I've now got used to at the end of each journey closing all the windows fully and holding both window buttons on driver door for approx 3 seconds and this seems to work for quite a while.
I know it's nice to get rid of the problem, but why spend money on something that is likely to happen again, when it's a simple and quick fix.
good luck

Re: Renault Laguna II - Interiors - Electric Window Problems - Regulator Repairs

I had my passenger window regulator pack up on me last night, the Mrs wound it all the way down and that was that The previous owner obviously sensed a problem with this window as there was a kit in a padded envelope in the boot, so this afternoon me and my friend tried to fit it. Absolute nightmare, even using the Youtube video to help, could not get rid of a couple of inches of slack cable whatever we did, after I dont know how long we gave up and popped to the French breakers yard.

He offered me a brand new replacement regulator kit for 55, looks soooo much better than the usual one i've seen, all assembled, decent connnections, no cheap easily breakable clips, picking one up tomorrow-can only guess this is old news to a lot on this forum, but for those who aren't familiar with it, it looks like a bargain
