That was parts and labour. They did mention replacing the water pump at the same time, but said that they could only tell whether it needed doing once the cam belt was off - which it didn't.

This was for a 1.9dCi - maybe there's more work involved for a belt change on a 3.0 V6? I'd imagine your engine bay is a fair bit more cramped than mine for doing work in.

As long as the independant garage use genuine Renault filters and parts, and stick to the service schedule, then the warranty is unaffected, regardless of the service light.

Some service lights are easy to reset, some aren't.I'm not sure about your car.Unless anybody else knows,I'll have a look at work tomorrow and get back to you.

I'd rather push my Alfa than drive a BMW....

Got my cam belt changed only cost £200!

Methinks I got it cheap!!

Thought it was expensive after having a belt done on a Calibra for £60!

Got a new French Striker, got a new Dutch midfielder, Southgate has lost his Woody!. And, unfortunately, still got a space in the trophy cabinet...

hello, are you serious about them charging 1000 just for a service. i know it's the big one (cambelt) but that is one of the most ridiculous things i have heard. i know renault are utter scumbags but that is bad even for them. i would rather get a secondhand engine.
