I got 38.7 on the car computer over the last 500 miles but where I live is very rural, most of my mileage was done on rural roads with very little traffic.

I also drive very economicaly, accelarate gently, rarely go over the speed limits, never brake hard by anticipating hold ups ahead, etc.
Currently in davesss's garage:
2002 Laguna Sports Tourer 1.8 Dynamique Moondust VF1KGOB, Fiat Siecento Micheal Schumaker, Kawasaki KLE M/Cycle and a cheap Mountain Bike.

Normal commuting, I get between 30.7 and 31.7

Motorway 38.2 and 39.1

Got a new French Striker, got a new Dutch midfielder, Southgate has lost his Woody!. And, unfortunately, still got a space in the trophy cabinet...

Im struggling to reach 30mpg in my 1.6 Lag II. Filled the tank last week and pressed reset and now the tanks nearly empty and it says ive averaged 27.9mpg. Not happy at all with that but to be honest 90% of my driving is around town.

About to go out now, and will travel about 16 miles there and 16 miles back. It will be mainly motorway driving so ill hit the reset and see what I get and let you know.

Just had a trip to Cornwall, and did a check on the fuel consumption. Over 1050 miles (660 motorway) the computer showed avaerage consumption of 34.8 mpg.
I didn't think that was too bad, but our friends who we went down with have a 1.8 Mondeo, and when we filled up at the same garage, we had used about 6 more fuel on the journey down.
