Ours is never out the town (Edinburgh) and we consistently see 30-32mpg which i think is great.

Our 2005 2.0 16v Sports Tourer's mpg fluctuates quite alot, depending on when you hit the reset button. Have had it in the 60's on the motorway when doing 65mph.

Urban can vary between 24 - 32, go figure......possibly something wrong with the car. For a 68l tank we got about 450 miles from full to empty, a combination of rural and motorway.

Renault say I should get 34 mpg combined. I think that is about right. The further say I should get 516 miles to a full tank, I can only think they tested that on a motorway..

Smile Mpg

I do a lot of travelling up to Liverpool from South Wales in my 02 Laguna 1.8 Auto and on the motorways I'm averaging 38 - 40 mpg doing about 70 (When there's no sign of "Plod" it might creep up a tad ) with the cruise control on, which I think is excellent considering I carry all my tools in the boot (Gas Fitter with just about every tool you can mention), hope this bit of info helps?

Merry Christmas,

Send a message via MSN to THIEKBLACK

On motorway driving i average 37/40mpg which i reckon is pretty good for a large car. This figure is at a steady 70 mph with no aggressive right footing.
While I'm on line can annyone tell me how to start a new thread as each time i log on i forget how to get into starting one.
To admin. can we not have a tab on the menu for this?

Unhappy 1.8 16v MPG

Looks like i am getting about the average MPG from my 2003 1.8 16v Dynamique. 32mpg on normal commute - motorway and town, and 38mpg ish for a good steady motorway run - i get arond 410 - 430 miles from a full tank.

Anyone got any comments on the performance of the 1.8 16v ? - I owned a MK1 phase 2 with the same engine and it felt faster and gave better MPG.

Stupidly i presumed the MK2 would be faster and more efficient, but doesn't seem to be the case - 5th gear acceleration up a hill is particularly bad (new plugs & filter fitted recently with no effect).
