Like a few people have commented here, I think I'll have to amend my poss vote...

Was getting about 43mpg average...
...now getting 38mpg average!!
Same routes, same derv, and same driver!

Some people say I'm stark raving bonkers, the others just smile and nod...

And after a new battery, it's back into the low / mid 40's...

I had one of those for a while, it got about 35 around the town and back and forth to work about 43, mainly motorway.

i did one trip of 180 miles on the motorway at relatively high speeds (around 80 -90) and got 47.8 by the computer.

Engine blew all of its oil out that day onto the A1. Never got the car back, no-one could stop it pressurising the crank and blowing seals, it was absolute rubbish.

On the up side it was much more torquey than the 1.9 that I now have, and more economical at 80 than the 1.9.

The 1.9 seems to be the more reliable engine, its only failed to drive once in 5000 miles. It averages around 44. Not too good really, but at least it drives. Very smokey under acceleration and absolutely no torque in the higher gears.

Anyone else find theirs gutless?

Which 1.9 do you have?
There are various power options, 95bhp,100bhp & 120bhp.
Later models are 130bhp.

They will all probably feel a bit less powerful than the 2,2dci, but if you have the 120 or 130, apart from out & out acceleration there won't be that much noticeablr difference in practice.

What mileage has yours done? Service history?
