Has anybody experienced the same difference after changing tyres ??
I've just gone from an odd pair of tyres (Michein and Dunlop SP) on the front to two chinese budgets (Sunny's I think!) I have noticed greater tyre noise, but in terms of MPG if anything it is better, last two tank fulls have averaged 53 MPG. I figure if the rubber is a harder compound this will explain the greater noise (aswell as the deeper tread) and would also mean less rolling resistance hence slightly improved MPG, the downside is less grip (harder =less sticky for want of a better term). I'm no expert, I just speak from experience

I reckon that i must have got the worst of everything - traction and grip is ten times worse in the wet now, at least i know the ESP is working OK !!

I have a Lag 2 Tourer 1.9DCi 120BHP 6 speed and even at 70mph - 80MPH I get 55MPG+
I live in a village so our routes are about 50/50 urban/rural and still get an avg of 49mpg

But then i still get 50mpg+ in 4th gear.

I tend to drive on rural roads about 50% of the time and motorway driving the other 50% and I am getting around 43 mpg which admittedly is dissapointing to the 60 mpg the dealer promised me. I've had it upto around 47 mpg when I have driven steady on a long motorway drive, but I rarely drive 'steady', so guess I'm getting about average for my driving style.

Smile Laguna MPG

I'm getting 53.5mpg average from my 2003 1.9dci Laguna, about 750-800 miles on a tank full, running a cheapo tuning box also, mpg has increased slightly, it's a lot easier to drive the thing more economically now, if that makes sense!
