The onboard compy says 40.2mpg and that is with an equal mix of driving styles (me and the mrs) and different roads (me motorway for work and Doris around town coz she's a girl).
I reckon its normally about 650 miles for the tank and as its a 15.4 gallon tank I make that an average of 42.2 mpg.
I do believe it should be a bit higher though.

Got a 2002 1.9dci 120bhp and it started on 48, then 46, then 43,42 and last tank was 38. Only had the car 3 weeks but done loads of miles. Just had a new MAF sensor and egr valve fitted but it still flatspots and throws out loads of smoke, hopefully it will get better as I bought this car to stop me riding the bike to work. This is on manual calc not using trip puter.

Bike would return between 43mpg and 48mpg on the 110mile round trip to work and thats lots of cruising in the 3 figure region.....

I am happy with over 40mpg as my main car struggles to do 21mpg, in fact I average 18mpg with a personal best of 25mpg on a long run.....its only a 1.3 as well....but it does rev to 9500rpm and is silky smooth as its a rotary....

According to the trip computer I averaged 49mpg on the run into work this morning, was at 53 until I hit Hampton Court. Still throwing out clouds of black smoke and hesitating.

Laguna Fuel Consumption

Hi guys/gals
I have had some really erratic fuel consumption readings myself. Both before & after air mass meter & turbo repairs carried out.

On average, the OBC would show 34-35mpg, but a manual caluclation would show 39mpg. This is over the course of 500+ miles. A few tanks ago I had the OBC show 36-37mpg, but again a manual calculation of 39mpg. My journeys would normally consist of steady driving on A & B roads (40-60mph ish)with nothing really in the way of a long motorway run.

So far on this tank full, I had 44.1mpg displayed, but had now settled at 38-39mpg over about 350 miles. I'm not expecting to get any more than the usual 39mpg over the course of a tank, as the mileage covered & the remaining range will be consistent to what I've been getting previously. I will believe the fuel gauge and fill up as needed.

Does anyone one know that if you hold down the OBC button on the wiper stalk & then insert the key into the ignition, the instrument gauges will go through a self test, & will also display the fuel volume in litres. Perhaps another back up to confirm you fuel gauge readings.
