I had a 2003 1.9dci before the 2.0 16v I have now and was easily getting 42 to the gallon. I miss the six speed box, lucky to push 30mpg now in the winter months with petrol version.

I'm averaging around 43mpg out of mine at the moment. I am going to be cleaning the EGR valve and checking the MAF sensor and changing filters etc, will then post up whether mpg has changed after this.
I find my mpg changes depending who's diesel I use as well.
