That's slightly unusual JLP I've used my satnav in numerous Renaults, and they have always read slightly lower than the satnav. Could be explained by the larger tyre diameter

Also remember sat-navs don't recognise hills and valleys so there is always going to be some error. Bog standard systems only calculate in straight lines albeit at a fairly rapid rate

Both the system in my car and my portable unit can give elevation, as to whether they are smart enough to calculate that in I have no idea

I will say tho that the occasions that I have compared them to Speedo readings have always been on a flat straight section of road.....not that there's much of that round here

Only had the car a few days, and getting 41 knocking about, but I tested on a 5 mile motorway stretch and got 61

With regards SatNav, my Tomtom, on my Nokia and my 520T, my speedo has always read about 5 miles over, and also on the flashing road signs that tell you your speed, but the SatNav and the road signs read the same.

Om my latest Lag, it reads the same as the SatNav and the roadsigns. this was quite a surprise.

Haven't we gone off topic somewhat here though? lol
