Re: Renault Laguna II - Phase 1 - Engines - Average MPG from 1.9 DCi Engine

My 200,000 mile DCi SPort Tourer is averaging 47mpg, but thats regularly doing 85mph on the motorway (tut tut). I have had 60mpg on a long run at 60mph.

You all need to do more miles, maybe thats the secret!

Re: Renault Laguna II - Phase 1 - Engines - Average MPG from 1.9 DCi Engine

If I may go a little off topic
I get between 35 and 40 MPG on my Extra van (If I converted km per liter correctly)

My diesel only smokes a bit at start up, further nothing I even got someone to drive behind me, uphill, downhill slow and up 60mph.
Is this normal?

Re: Renault Laguna II - Phase 1 - Engines - Average MPG from 1.9 DCi Engine

Well I've only had mine since Sunday (1.9 Dci Privilege HB) and have done around 500 miles. Currently reads 43.4 MPG on the trip computer so allowing for speedo error it must be around a 'true' 40 or so.

That's probably not a true reflection of my normal weekly driving though as we've had a few issues on the motorways round these parts recently. Meant I had to come home at rush hour through Warrington after someone threw themselves at the scenery on the Thelwall Viaduct. So I expect it to rise slightly over the next few days.

(Plus it badly needs a service which may liberate a few more decimal points.)

I cannot get it to shift above that.

I donít go over 2k on the revs when driving around town.
The only time it is at constant 2k or over is on the motorway.

It is costing me too much to run the car. At this rate if that is all i am going to get its going to force me to sell up.

I am just wondering if this is correct for the eng / car?

Thanks

Chris
The main problem with average fuel consumption in Laguna 1.9 DCi engine is:This engine fuel consumption is heavily influenced by maf -sensor when I inadvertently spoil my maf -sensor and replace it with chinese unoriginal product of 100 euros(original was 300 euros!), the consumption increase by 1-2 liters per 100 km.Fuel consumption goes from average 6,3 to 8,3 liters,in city from 7,5 to 9.I don't know what to do,any help please?
