1.9dci MPG

I've noticed recently that my MPG changes considerably depending upon where I fill up. On a good run run (Milton Keynes to Plymouth) i've had an average of 53mpg at a steady 75mph. Just for normal use (work and back, being a taxi for the kids etc) it returns around 43mpg, but only if I pay the couple of pence extra per litre and fill up at a Shell station. As soon as I try to save that couple of pence per litre by filling up at Tescos, my fuel consumption drops to around the 32mpg mark. I've tried this over the last 6 months, fill up at Shell 43mpg, fill up at Tescos 32mpg. Anyone else noticed this? Or is it just me?

Thank god some-one else has had this . I to am getting 36 to the gallon on tesco's diesel.
I've just had the old yellow ocs done on mine (new replacement turbo and inter-cooler- courtesy Mr Renault no charge)
Now, when I got the car back and filled it with a full tank the first run to fill up again gave me 635 miles.
The second gave me 520miles .
the third gave me 431 miles .
this tank I am waiting to see return on full tank b4 I rturn to Mr Renault and ask him what is occuring.
These returns I may add are on Tesco's diesel.
Whilst we're on the subject does anybody know why fuel has suddenly gone up again??
I have not seen any publications to tell us why
Anyone???????????

I too have noticed the price of fuel has gone up. Living in Cornwall and being a cynic ( I work for the NHS so have had plenty of practice) I have put it down to greedy dealers cashing in on the tourists over the Easter Holidays - fuel n our area ( Newquay in particular) always seems to go up during the tourist season, never goes down afterwards tho, just keeps going up and up! Sod us poor locals who keep them going during the long dark winter months - we don't count.

Smile Mpg

Hi

i get around 44.5 just general driving around town but twice weekly I do a long-ish motorway run of 75 mile each way and in 6th gear and averaging 70-80 miles an hour i can easily return 48-50 mpg. The car is three years old and just over 45,000 miles - Dynamique 1.9Dci

I get more MPG from Morrisons than I do from so-called Ultimate diesels. There does seem to be a big difference in mpg between certain fuels.
