There's several parts on these lags that were clearly under-tested or they were forced to cut costs - and it shows. Hopefully the replacement parts will be slightly higher spec.

Renault Clutch pedal

I have experienced the same problem, took it to my Renault agent who said it was the master cylinder.
This item was replaced, but on the way home from the garage it was doing the same thing.
Returned it to the garage at which stage they fitted a return spring, all ok now.
Contact Renault Customer services complaining of the fault , to be told it is not a problem with Laguna Clutch mater cylinders.
To my mind they admit a design fault by fitting a none original return spring.
Laguna has done 49,000 miles.
Will not purchase another Renault.

i have the 2001 which doesnt have a spring fitted ( it should have though) is that the master cylinder you are talking about m8ty ?

I had the same prob as jeffbdoublu clutch pedal stayed down had to put foot under it to get it to return ,took to Renault under warranty they fitted two new mastercylinders within 4 months ,!!then i had a recall for master cylinder to be changed to upgraded version they did it no charge ,been o.k since ...touch wood!!!
Currently in excavator's garage:
Had a 2003 Laguna Initiale sports Tourer 2.2dci..Now replaced with a 2011 Laguna Sports Tourer 2.0dci 150bhp Dynamique tom tom Initiale Lux pk.

Mine does the same...

Anybody knows if by cahngind the liquid without changing the master cylinder would do the job?

Currently in sateliteboca's garage:
no car for the moment
