2003 Laguna 1.9dci estate

Hi everyone, hope iv,e posted in the right section ?
Can anyone advise me please what to look out for with a 2003 Laguna estate 1.9dci...., it has had one owner with full service history and 100,000 miles.
It looks to be in superb order with no body scuffs etc and has a black half leather interior, which also shows no signs of a relatively high mileage car.

Any pointers as to what I should check would be most appreciated.

BTW, it,s just had a new heater motor fitted and 4 new brake discs and pads...., it has a 3month warranty and is 2,750

Turbo history would concern me plus rear sub-frame bushes.

I think it may be tad too expensive - the site below values it at a retail price of around 2200. Remember its a buyers market at present especially as its January plus the economic downturn.
If getting a warranty it would be best to get an independent one if possible as I can see some car sales companies going belly up in the near future

I also thought it sounded expensive.

I would go for a longer warranty.

Check the intercooler is not bulging or is the reinforced, strapped variety.

Is there any smoke from the exhaust? Tell them you want the EGR and throttle valve damper ( EGR housing) cleaned before you'll take it or walk away.

Check ALL electrics

Bear in mind you won't be able to fully check the aircon because of the cold weather but you'd at least want it to demist properly

It should have decent shove from 2k revs in third; acceleration should be smooth; 40-50mpg should be easy.

They're nice cruisers lags, so make sure there's no rattles

oh yeah, if it has xenons make sure the squirters go back down - they only work with the lights on and are a pain to replace when they stick up - check with several squirts

I'd go for all of the above turbo , rear bushes, h/lamp washers, also in my experience check for 'clunks' on the steering indicating Track rod ends or lower suspension arm bushes/ball joints heavy diesel lumps can wear these quickly.

If the paint work is totally unmarked check for signs of a re-spray tell tales are overspay on window rubbers or 'orange peel' in the apint finish.

Depending on trim check that all extras work i.e sunroof, sat nav etc, if you can try a cd in the dash cd player to make sure thats working and the cd changer if it has one in the boot.
