second turbo knackered

Can anyone help? Coming home from the shops quite a few weeks ago the turbo started whistling quite loud but the speed was not in line with the turbo . 5min later the power went and all i could do was get it home in 1st and second gear, then fuel injection fault came up. Took to garage where they replaced the turbo and nothing else did not even clean the pipes 5 miles back from the garage the car did exactly the same as first time, smoke billowing out again. Brought a new turbo and changed everything oil , intercooler, pipes and i think they changed the egr valve aswell but not sure! this time approx 15miles later, exactly the same as first time. As i am not certain whether they replaced the egr valve could this have done it again in such a short space of time or is it something else. I really am on a tight budget hence it did not go to renault in the first place.Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Laguna II 2.2DCi concerns

This is my first post, so please bear with me if details are a bit lacking...

I have very recently bought a 2002 (52 plate) Laguna II Initiale 2.2DCi with 48k miles on the clock and have noticed that it produces a fair amount of smoke from the exhaust under hard acceleration. Under 'normal' conditions it appears fine, and performance generally seems very good. This is my first diesel car, purchased after having had four years' excellent service from a 2000 Laguna 1.8 Sport.

Having read the numerous threads regarding turbo problems, I am seeking advice on what do to now. Should I have my garage clean or replace the EGR valve and change the oil for a good quality synthetic oil ? Would this be enough to ward of potential problems or is it likely that the turbo is already in trouble?

The car was purchased from an independent (non-Renault) dealer, so if there are issues am I likely to have any recourse from Renault themselves?

Any thoughts, comments and suggestions would be gratefully received. Please let me know if any further info is needed.

Many thanks.

laguna maintenance

Having read most of this thread and the thread over at parkers. I have since gone ahead and purchased the recommend oil that everyone seems to rave about, AMSOIL.

Anyway, after having my turbo blow it must more than a year ago now and finding out what a clogged/sticky EGR valve does. I regularily clean it, but what I have noticed and what I haven't seen in any of these threads is mention of the manifold. From my experience the channels in the manifold fill up (not block but narrow) with the same oily carbon particulates that clogs the EGR valve. So when I clean the EGR valve I also clean the channels in the manifold.

This may only be related to the 1.9 dci model.

Has anyone else noticed the amount of oil that seems to come from the crankcase breather pipe? Could this be the reason the EGR becomes clogged?

Also, has anyone noticed the rubber hoses that connect to the intercooler becoming very dirty. I only have experience of maintaining my car, but I believe they are porous (not so you can feel air leaking rather that the pipes are oozing a liquid). They seem attract the dust ,dirt and grime. The surrounding area is relatively clean. Is this possible?

Espace - Electronic Incident Warning - power loss

Having read this thread with interest and having limited meccano skills can anyone post a photo of what the egr valve looks like for me to clean.

I bought my Espace two weeks ago on 40k mile and yesterday experienced power loss, the warning light, and duly 'limped' home. I can also smell oil in and around the car. I also stalled the car toward the end of the journey home. The warning light dissappeared and power was restored. Today no problems but appears to be running a bit rough (juddery) with oil smell present at end of journey on 30 sec idle.

Please confirm I have the dreaded symptoms and that you recommend clean valve, clean mainfold, oil change to 0W or 5W and Amsoil drops. I have booked into a Renault dealer for a full service and diagnostic investigation next week and want your informed opinions on this one.
