Re: Renault Clio 2003 - Engines - Loss of power and Warning Light

Been thru all the usual advice (mostly nonsense) only to discover that the relay mounts under the cover beside the battery, corrode and therefore the contact connections can cause an intermittent fault. Got some rust dissolver from Lidl and removed the relays(don't panic all three small ones are exactly the same) ,sprayed the contacts on the relays and the mounting plate .. waited 5mins plugged the relays back in and hey presto! the wee car starts , runs fine and all the dreaded warning light on the dash go away . My daughter drives this car and carries my 5yr old grandson in the back. Clios must have the weakest wiring looms in the history of motor manufacture and this fault is intrinsicly dangerous apart from being a right royal pain in the a**e
