different problems?

Hi all... are two different set of faults described in this thread?

From what I'm reading some people are having one of the following:
1) Engine has intermittent fault where the engine turns over but does not fire.
2) Engine has intermittent fault where the engine does not turn

The problem I'm having is the same as debbiegary's and Wel****'s one where the engine is fine, after a short stop the engine turns but does not fire.

The car is a Megane Scenic 1600 R reg. From the few threads I've skimmed over it sounds like I need to check the TDC sensor and possibly the connections to it... ( I thought it might have something to do with the immobiliser ...)

Now, my question is this... wherebouts is this TDC sensor located exactlly?

Another question if I may, the immobiliser on this model, does it prevent the engine from turning, or does it prevent the engine from firing? (Reason I ask is because a mate said that the engine should'nt turn over if the immobiliser were active ... however, I have had a VW which did turn but would'nt fire unless the immobiliser was off or bypassed)

Many thanks for an informative site ... TJ
