First off, have you checked the 20 amp fuse behind the ashtray? If this is blown, then the stereo won't work and the sat-nav screen will be dead. If that's okay, then try leaving the battery negative lead disconnected for a few hours (preferably overnight.) If that still doesn't sort it, then check every other fuse even if it seems to be unrelated. There's a fuse box in the end of the dash, and another one under the bonnet. There's even one hidden inside the glovebox on some models (you have to remove the lining) which, while I don't think relates to the sat-nav, might still be worth checking before giving up hope.
