Re: Megane 2 1.4 buyers guide

Make sure you get a test drive to check performance and gears ect.
Check if it has any warning lights flashing, shows signs of damp on carpets when you press hard, knocking on suspension ect.
Test EVERY electrical item on the car.
Electrical problems are the main problem on these.
Make sure it has spare wheel, jack and towing eye.
Radio code.
Check underneath for oil leaks.

If any of these phrases are heard-

It's been stood a while.
Just needs a good run.
Battery might be a bit flat.
It's because the petrol is low.
The log book hasn't come back yet.
I'm selling it for a mate.
Dont know how things work even though I've owned it 3 years.
Mot is due next week but it will easily pass.

Buy with your head and not your heart as they say.
Unless it's very cheap of course.
Currently in lancs dave's garage:
Scenic 1.4ish 2002. Clio 1.2 2002. Thunderbird 885 1995, Suzuki Gsx600f 1989. Fazer 600 2002. Specialist cement mixer for proffessionals only, not yer average forum numpty. Your car is probably worth more than all that lot put together.
