I had a similar problem a few times .Different reasons ,on mine it was coil packs whatever they are,, then TDC sensor ,,on the last occasion it was an intermitant fault on the brake switch ,as i pressed the brake it would start to die or cut out, not every time but it became more frequent,The brake lights would go out when it shorted out.then would work again when engine started..It took Renault 3 days to track it down.Check on general forum about TDC sensor.
