Renault build quality

Hi everyone.... first post here

I'm a long term Ford owner, currently with a Mondeo and a Focus. On my last couple of trips to France I've been given a Megane as my hire car. Last time it was a 1.6 vvt Megane and unusualy for a hire car, it was fully loaded. It had 17" alloys, cruise control, ESP, reversing sensors, automatic lights and wipers. It was surprisingly good to drive. It was particularly good around town. I had the car for a couple of weeks and I didn't want to give it back.

I've never even considered buying a Renault before. Their reputation for build quality hasn't been too good in the past. The question is.... what is Renault build quailty like now. The hire car was only a couple of months old so you would expect it to be fine but I tend to keep hold of cars for a long time. My Focus was bought new and is now seven years old. It has held together remarkably well. What will the Megane be like after 7 years?

Currently in Vendee's garage:
Mondeo, Focus.
