You'll not be able to lube the bearing properly without removing the strut and dis-assembling using spring compressors. If going to that trouble it would be wise to renew the bearing.
The propblem is if you remove lube it and then reassemble you'll not know if you have cured the problem until you have re-assembled and put it back on the car and lowered it back on to its wheels when the bearing will be under load.
