The older Lag I estate models do suffer from a sagging back end as time goes on as the torsion bars get tired.
You could try adjusting the bars on their splines to gain that extra bit of height but in all honesty it won't improve the resilience of the torsion bars - when they get tired the only way to improve that aspect it to renew them and I suspect the price of new units would not be cost effective.
