Renault Clio automatic

Hi all,

I have been looking into buying a Clio Auto, However am somewhat baffled as to the different autos out there.

Basically I'm looking at an Expression model on 52-53 plates.

However there seems to be 1 version of the auto transmission that is sometimes described as "Semi auto" or "tip tronic"...this type seems to have a conventional looking gear stick, but no clutch.....the other is a standard auto with a P N R D 1 2 selector.

My questions are....

Are all these transmissions basically the same gearbox, with different electronics? (one semi, one fully auto)

Does the Semi auto version have a fully auto mode?

Are the transmissions the same unit on the 1.4 and 1.6?

Are they CVT transmissions or conventional torque converter/planetary gear units.

I hope you can shed some light on this subject for me.

Thank you!
